Fans react as Fern Britton reveals that one of her relative is a well-known TV actor

Best-known as a leading TV host Fern Britton has surprised fans by revealing that she's not the only showbiz member of her family.

The former breakfast TV host has dropped a bombshell on Twitter, revealing that her brother is none other than TV star Jasper Britton, who is now featuring in a major US show. Sharing her excitement, Fern tweeted, "I’m off to bed to catch ep3 of Hijack! The Apple TV drama starring my brother Jasper Britton with some bloke called Idris Elba. Night night x."

Fans expressed their astonishment and delight at this revelation. Hazel responded, "Oh my goodness I never knew that… didn’t join the dots... I’m going to watch that tonight on the recommendation of the morning crew @RadioX. Enjoy x."

Others chimed in with their opinions on the gripping series. Paul exclaimed, "Watched it and it's still gripping stuff. I never thought they could stretch a series out of it but it sure does work!" Helen shared her frustration of having to socialize instead of enjoying the show, stating, "It’s so good, went to watch ep3 earlier and had visitors so had to socialise instead."

Other fans fans couldn't help but express their admiration for Jasper's acting skills, reports Birmingham Live. Anna commented, "Wondered where Jasper had disappeared to! He’s playing a blinder with that bloke Idris, talent runs through the family xx." Koti shared the gripping experience, revealing, "Yes, we were watching it last night, quite gripping my wife told me when I woke up, the joys of working too many hours."

Many enthusiasts struggled to access the series, leading to frustration. Liza expressed her annoyance, saying, "I’m trying to log in to Apple TV to watch it and it won’t let me - very frustrating!!! Ooooh famous brother!!!" Amanda, empathising with Fern's decision to settle down for the night, added, "My sister phoned earlier to tell me to watch this, she said it was fantastic. Don’t blame you settling down for the night, the weather is grim, very autumnal x."

Hijack, a seven-episode series, follows the character Sam Nelson, played by Idris Elba, who finds himself on a hijacked plane from Dubai to London. Nelson, a corporate negotiator, utilises his professional skills to rescue fellow passengers. The first two episodes of Hijack premiered on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, June 28, followed by a new episode each week until August 2.
