Fans rage on Twitter after The Chase contestant takes -£4,000

Fans of The Chase couldn't contain their anger after a contestant who appeared on the show made a huge dent in his teams winnings by taking a low offer.

Sandeep was the last contestant to face chaser Anne Hegarty after all of his team mates managed to beat her and earn £16,000.

After revealing he's a big Spice Girls fan to host Bradley Walsh, Sandeep proved he could do just as well, and proved it by earning

The avid Chase Twitter following were already speculative of the bow-tie wearing psychiatrist even before The Governess put the offers on the table:

"Is the an “it’s more important I get back so I’ll go low” coming? #TheChase ", one Tweeted.

Almost on queue, Sandeep left Bradley gobsmacked, with the host even asking "Are you sure?" as he chose to go with the -£4,000 option.

The Chase faithful were livid with the 33-year-old immediately taking to the social network to voice their anger.

One Tweeted: "Is this guy for real?...", with another adding: "The audacity of that man!"

A third person Tweeted: "THE -4K OFFER. AND THAT BOWTIE. SHAME."

It didn't stop there, fans were even more angry once Sandeep comfortably made it back to his team mates, denting their £16,000 total.

One person said: "People who take minus on the chase are demons."

Another added: "If I was part of the team I'd be ragin."

Sandeep and his team then went on to beat Anne in the final chase, with Twitter users ready to vent:

"Sandeep is a shameless minus offer taker. He should split his prize money between the other three then write them IOUs for £1,500 each.", Tweeted one.

"The UK could go back into lockdown but you take a minus offer on #TheChase you're going to trend at No 1."

The Chase returns at 5pm every weekday on ITV.
