Fans outraged as Man City stars are snubbed for Best FIFA Player of the Year award

Man City fans are not happy after the club had zero players on the shortlist for the FIFA Best Player of the Year.

FIFA have today been confirming their 10-people strong shortlists for their annual awards that acknowledge the achievements and quality of players and managers in the men's and women's game.

While City did have nominees in other categories, no male player was nominated for the award despite City's incredible year.

The Blues became the first mens team in English football history to win a domestic treble after claiming the Carabao Cup, clinching the Premier League by a point and winning the FA Cup.

They did so while playing magnificent football, with plenty of standout performers all over the pitch.

Bernardo Silva established himself as one of the best midfielders on the planet after countless displays in which he showed his technical excellence alongside his tireless work ethic.

Sergio Aguero continued his unreal form in front of goal by bagging 30 goals once again and Raheem Sterling continued to improve to have an even better season than the last while becoming a role model off the pitch.

That's just to name but three amazing players from the past season and there are many more who haven't been recognised by FIFA.

The list of nominees are: Cristiano Ronaldo, Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Sadio Mane, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk.

Pep Guardiola was nominated for the Best Coach of the Year and new striker Ellen White is on the shortlist for the Best Woman Player after a brilliant World Cup for England.

Regardless some City are fuming that their male stars haven't been given the recognition they deserve.
