Fans of The Chase were furious when ITV pulled the scheduled episode of the hit game show was pulled.
It replaced the advertised edition on Tuesday afternoon with a repeat of the I'm A Celebrity special which featured Stanley Johnson.
The change was made after Stanley's son Boris Johnson was appointed as the new leader of the Conservative Party, which means he will become Prime Minister.
An hour before the episode, The Chase announced on its Twitter account it would be changing the schedule, DevonLive reports.
It posted: “Tonight's episode of #TheChase will feature @StanleyPJohnson.
“This is definitely a coincidence and has nothing to do with a certain announcement from earlier today…”
The Twitter account added: “Join us at 5PM to see how Stanley, @jenniemcalpine, @ShappiKhorsandi and @iainlee do!”
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! special saw former contestants team up to take on Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan.
However, viewers were not happy with the sudden change and took to social media to shout about it.
One fan tweeted: "Have ITV really just changed the The Chase episode to a repeat of the I'm a Celeb special featuring Boris Johnson dad, just because of today's result? LOL"
Another said: "I'm not sure a change in schedule on ITV and, a repeat of a celebrity Chase with Stanley Johnson will win Boris anymore popularity votes!!!!"
One added: "Oh look, the new prime ministers daddy is on a celebrity The Chase repeat. What have we done to deserve this?"
Another commented: "Repeat episode of ITV Chase today. Why or why?"
