Sea Shanty hitmaker Nathan Evans has admitted Alexa is having problems playing his song to fans.
The postie and Tik Toker from Airdrie who just signed a deal with Polydor records has been racing his way up to the top of the charts with his viral sea shanty Wellerman and is currently at number three in the UK.
However, not everyone who has tried to hear his song has managed to get hold of it - because Alexa keeps playing them the wrong version.
For some bizarre reason Alexa keeps defaulting to Bristol based a capella group The Longest Johns version of the song with is on their collection of nautical songs Between Wind and Water and was recorded in 2018.
Nathan took to his Tik Tok to try and resolve the problem but didn't manage to fix it totally.
He said: "So I've been seeing loads of people saying to me they can't find the song on Alexa and they are having problems."
Transforming into a pirate complete with hat and eyepatch he added: "So if you just say play Wellerman by Nathan Evans ye'll find the treasures ye'll seek to find there me laddy. Rrrr I cannae see."
Whilst his solution worked for some, others found that they were still having technical problems.
One fan said: "Yeah, had this problem at work today- it played a somewhat lacklustre version, not the wake-up I was looking for!"
Another added: "It plays the Longest Johns version when I say that. I just played this video to it and it still did it ."
And another lamented: "I'm glad my Alexa isn't the only one not playing it."
