Fans of Nottingham restaurant wondering when it will reopen after two month closure

Food lovers have been left wondering when a Nottingham city centre restaurant will return after it closed due to "unforeseen circumstances" more than two months ago.

Turkish restaurant Antalya hasn't been open to customers since June when it posted on social media that it would be closed until further notice.

"Please follow our social media pages for updates. Look forward to hosting you soon," said an announcement on June 30.

There has been no update since then and the restaurant remains closed, with a green wheelie bin inside and a vase of artificial lilies on one of the tables.

The restaurant, in Forman Street, first opened in 1989, and has been a draw for fans of Turkish and Mediterranean food, serving traditional falafel, shish kebabs, kofte and moussaka.

A customer told Nottinghamshire Live: "We live in hope they will open again but it looks a long way from that."

Another, who turned up there in August hoping for food, commented on the post: "Oh no! I have just been there and it is closed. One of my favourite places. Please open again soon."

One added: "Best Turkish restaurant in town. Delicious food and excellent service. Hope to see you soon back in business."

Nottinghamshire Live has tried contacting Antalya but hasn't had a response.
