Fans name their Champions League finalists - and it is bad news for Liverpool and Man City

Barcelona and Tottenham could meet again in the Champions League this season in the final in June.

That's according to a poll of fans ahead of Tottenham's quarter-final second leg clash with Manchester City tonight (Wednesday).

Spurs travel to the Etihad Stadium this evening with a 1-0 advantage in the quarter-final tie, having won 1-0 at their new stadium in the first leg last week.

And 51 per cent of fans voting in a football.london poll have backed Mauricio Pochettino's men to finish the job against Pep Guardiola's City side and then go on to beat Ajax in the semi-final.

Why Chelsea fans should be livid with Ajax's superb Champions League win over Juventus

The winner of tonight's tie in Manchester will face the Dutch side in the semi-final, after Ajax came from behind to beat Italian giants Juventus last night (Tuesday).

But while Spurs polled 51 per cent of the vote, 27 per cent of fans voting in the poll backed Ajax to reach the final, with 22 per cent voting for City to make it through as they continue their pursuit of a quadruple this season.

On the other side of the draw, Barcelona are already assured of their place in the semi-final after beating Manchester United 4-0 on aggregate, following a 3-0 win in the Nou Camp last night in the second leg of their quarter-final tie.

And they will face either Liverpool or Porto in the semi-final, with Jurgen Klopp's Reds holding a 2-0 advantage ahead of the second leg of their tie in Portugal this evening.

But fans voting in our poll do not think that Liverpool will be in the final in Madrid in June, with 67 per cent of people voting for Barcelona as the most likely finalists.

Liverpool are expected to make it through tonight though, with 27 per cent of fans voting for them as the most likely finalists from that side of the draw, and just six per cent of fans voting for Porto to make the final.

If Barcelona and Tottenham do both make it through to the final, they would be meeting in the competition for a third time this season, having also faced each other in the group stage.

The Spanish giants won 4-2 against Spurs at Wembley back in October, while a late Lucas Moura strike earned Tottenham a share of the spoils at the Nou Camp in December, ensuring that Pochettino's men qualified from the group.

Since then, Spurs have defeated Dortmund in the round of 16 and now lead 1-0 against City at the halfway stage of the quarter-final tie, while Barcelona beat French side Lyon 5-1 on aggregate in the round of 16, before knocking out Manchester United in the last eight.
