Fans mock Oklahoma president after he said he would’ve liked ‘more notice’ from Lincoln Riley

It’s been a rough few days for the Oklahoma Sooners.

After seeing their Big 12 title game hopes end in a loss to rival Oklahoma State, the Sooners were stunned as head coach Lincoln Riley left to take the head-coaching job at USC. And let me tell ya — Sooners fans have not been taking Riley’s departure well … at all.

It’s almost like Oklahoma thought it had a good thing going with Riley, and then seemingly out of the blue, it was blindsided by a decision that’ll have a lasting impact going forward. Who would do such a thing? Oh, that’s right: Oklahoma would.

Oklahoma president Joe Harroz discussed Riley’s exit for USC on Monday, and he admitted — without irony — that Oklahoma would have liked more notice from Riley.

I’m going to guess that the Big 12 Conference — which learned of Oklahoma and Texas’ move to the SEC from media reporting — might have felt the same way, Joe.

As you can imagine, plenty of college football fans found that comment hilarious in its lack of self awareness.
