Fans mock Mike Greenberg for calling Antonio Brown saga the ‘most unprofessional act’ in sports

The circumstances that led to Antonio Brown going from the Raiders to the Patriots were odd. There’s no denying that. Every week, there was something new that surrounded Brown — from the helmet to the frostbite to the argument with Mike Mayock.

And yes, the video that featured a Jon Gruden phone call and the subsequent Instagram post demanding his release were also strange.

But the most unprofessional act in the history of sports? Uh, I wouldn’t go that far.

During Monday’s edition of Get Up on ESPN, Mike Greenberg went as far as to say that the Brown saga — if it was orchestrated — was the “most unprofessional act” that he could ever remember seeing in sports.

Was the Brown saga unusual? Absolutely. Unprofessional? Yeah, I’d so say. But Greenberg was clearly a prisoner of the moment here, and sports fans mocked that take for its extreme recency bias.

Yeah, Greenberg might want to freshen up on past sports scandals. The Brown saga isn’t even close to the “most unprofessional.”
