Fans make same Roy Keane observation after Manchester United's 4-0 loss to Brighton

Roy Keane took in Kerry's Munster Football Championship win over his native Cork as Manchester United suffered another embarrassing Premier League defeat.

The Red Devils legend was at Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday evening as his former club lost 4-0 to Brighton at the Amex stadium.

And although Cork lost by 0-23 to 0-11 in the end, it was an extremely competitive game for 50 minutes and the hosts could take some positives from the clash.

But there were no such positives for United as they sunk to a new low in Saturday's thrashing to Brighton.

Goals from Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Pascal Gross and Leandro Trossard humiliated United and ensured the 20-time English champions will finish with their lowest points tally of the Premier League era and extinguished slender hopes of Champions League qualification

United’s players were subjected to chants of “you’re not fit to wear the shirt” from their own fans as they were outclassed and outfought on a remarkable evening.

And fans were quick to point out that Keane would have been much happier at Pairc Ui Rinn than he would have been watching the United game.

One said: "Roy Keane has made it to Pairc UI Rinn. He is lucky not to be watching @ManUtd at Brighton."

Another commented: "Roy Keane might be happy enough in pui watching #corkvkerry."

But others highlighted that Keane would still be furious despite not watching United's loss live.

One person tweeted: "Not sure what’s going to infuriate Roy Keane more, the fact United are 4-0 down at Brighton or that he can’t slam Maguire."

Another posted: "You've got to love man utd players hugging Brighton players and having a laugh with them lol in the middle of a game. Roy Keane must be losing his s***."

Ralf Rangnick apologised to United’s supporters and branded the 4-0 thrashing “humiliating” and “unacceptable”.

“To start with, it’s important that we apologise to our supporters who came all the way from Manchester to Brighton,” said interim manager Rangnick.

“We were just not good enough from start to finish. The performance was not only poor, it was extremely poor.

“It was a humiliating defeat and even more so for a team like Manchester United.

“It’s not only that you lose 4-0, it was also the way we played and this is just unacceptable, very difficult to deal with and to cope.”
