Fans love what Ian Wright did ahead of Marine vs Tottenham

Marine enjoyed one of their biggest games in the FA Cup when they took on Tottenham in the third round.

The non-league Merseyside outfit welcomed Premier League giants and Carabao Cup finalists Spurs to the Marine Travel Arena for an eagerly-anticipated clash.

With no fans able to attend due to the current coronavirus restrictions, which has seen supporters miss out on a memorable day out, the club launched a virtual ticket programme.

Setting a target of 6,000, which would have broken their record attendance, Marine were blown away by support with over 25,000 virtual tickets sold.

Football fans across the world have played their part in the fixture by getting involved - and Ian Wright has joined them.

The former Arsenal and England striker was part of the BBC's punditry set-up for the clash, alongside Alan Shearer with host Gary Lineker.

Fans of numerous clubs were quick to take to social media after they spotted something noticeable about Wright's attire.

Well-equipped for the winter weather, Arsenal's second all-time leading scorer was spotted wearing a Marine hat, lending his support to the non-league side.

His antics were certainly welcomed by Arsenal fans but supporters from numerous clubs were impressed with his devotion.
