Outlander star Sam Heughan and Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds are to battle it out after a challenge made over their opposing drinks brands.
Sam has his own whisky brand The Sassenach while Ryan has his Aviation Gin brand.
Sam was asked by a journalist from Forbes magazine if he would compete against Ryan in some form, and made it clear he wouldn't shirk the challenge.
Referring to the new-found rivalry, he said: "I'd love to. I know I'd beat him. Whatever it is. They've done really well, but I think we'd win. Absolutely. I'll give him a headstart though. You've got a headstart."
A short time later Sam sent Ryan a message copying him in on the interview and challenging him: "Marquess of Queenberry or classic ping pong?"
Ryan responded to Sam saying: "I’ve never heard of ping pong."
And Sam hit back: "Fine. That basebat game you do, we get to run in circles? After drinking."
Basebat, as a sport, doesn't really exist, but fans got the gist and couldn't wait for the two men to duel.
One said: ""I’m here for every single minute of these shenanigans. Make it happen @SamHeughan & @VancityReynolds!!"
Another questioned Ryan's sporting credentials saying: "Sheesh @VancityReynolds you live in L.A. and you don't know ping pong!? We'll get you drunk in @Sassenach maybe you'll find out what a ping pong is!"
Another added: "I would not recommend drinking and running around in circles so how about thumb wrestling?"
