Conor McGregor 's vow to give up alcohol ahead of his UFC return hasn't gone done well with some of his fans.
McGregor - who has been sidelined since last July with a broken leg - will return to full sparring in April to make his octagon return this summer.
The Irishman has been pictured mostly at his pub in Dublin, The Black Forge, instead of the gym as he gears up for his return.
But he assured fans last week that he would completely ditch alcohol when he returns to full training.
"For my fighting fans, I want to say I know I am enjoying myself with my liquid," McGregor wrote on Instagram.
"But very soon I will be immersing my self in full training again with complete abstention from my wonderful creations of spirit and ale. Just five more minutes Ma."
Fans were quick to react to McGregor's promise, with many of them being unimpressed.
One commenter wrote: "What camp? He has a fight booked?"
Another then replied by mocking his 2019 assault charge, writing: "Against the old man he punched a few years ago".
Other users were concerned that McGregor even needed to announce he was giving up alcohol for his return.
"If you feel the need to make some sorta declaration or announcement about getting sober for training camp, that’s a good indication that you should probably just get sober in general," a third wrote.
"Swears off alcohol with a post of a Guinness and a mixed drink, still in his bathrobe. This guy is never going to change!," a fourth user said:
A fifth commenter wasn't interested in McGregor return, writing: "Who cares we got too many good fights coming up to be worried about this mfs bs".
A likely return date for McGregor is July 2, with UFC 264 marking the promotion's card during International fight week.

'Notorious' requested a UFC lightweight title shot against Charles Oliveira upon his return, but the Brazilian has since been matched against No.1 contender Justin Gaethje.
Two of McGregor's other potential opponents, Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson, are also in talks to fight.
The fight announcements have sparked discussion over who No.9 ranked McGregor will face in his UFC comeback.
McGregor is without a win at 155-pounds in over five years, stopping Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title in November 2016.
And UFC president Dana White is confident of the former two-weight champion's return in summer.
"I think so, yeah," White told TMZ when asked if McGregor would fight in 2022.
"He's doing all the right things with his leg. I'm hoping he can come back this summer."
