Fans in Bristol celebrate England Euro 2020 win over Croatia

Football fans in Bristol have been pictured celebrating England's victory over Croatia in their opening match of their Euro 2020 campaign.

A first major tournament goal for Raheem Sterling in the second half assisted by Kalvin Phillip in his first-ever international tournament start gave the Three Lions all three points.

Our BristolLive photographer was at The Sportsman in Bishopston for the game and captured the moment that fans celebrated the winning goal.

Beers were flying, people tripping over, others embracing one another in celebratory hugs and a lot of smiles were all captured on camera throughout England's first game of the group stages.

Despite having seated tables for the match, fans were quick to stand up and embrace one another when the ball flew past Croatian keeper Dominik Livaković.

The Sportsman in Bishopston has screens set up outside underneath a marquee where fans can pay for their pints and enjoy the match.

The victory puts England top of their group, although opponents Scotland and Czech Republic are yet to play their opening matches yet.

A huge match faces the Three Lions on Friday, June 18 when they play their neighbours, Scotland, in their second group stage match.
