United had seemingly been in control during the first half and deservedly took the early lead thanks to a Fernandes strike which somehow slipped out of Emi Martinez's grasp and across the line. Fernandes' second came thanks to fine pressing from Fred as the Portuguese fired past Martinez via the underside of the crossbar.
