Fans double take at Killie mural that looks eerily like infamous Gordon Sawers

Fans have been forced to look twice at Kilmarnock's new mural that looks similar to one of their internet-famous fans.

The new artwork on the stadium's police base beside the East Stand of Rugby Park shows history of the club's success through the years.

The mural, which stretches round four walls of the building was designed in the last week by local artist Frank Carty.

And one fan said: "The supporters shot on one wall looks as if it has Gordon Sawers at the bottom.

"I don't know if it is him or not, but it's similar."

And Sawers himself even had to double take at the mural.

On his Facebook he joked: "In the brickwork now, bottom left a young G."

But despite the uncanny resemblance, it's actually a shot of supporters from one of Killie's Scottish Cup runs in the 1920s - a little before Sawers' time.
