Roy Keane joked that he believes he will be on the nice list this Christmas as he sent season's greetings to his Instagram followers.
The Manchester United legend shared an old snap of him and his former teammate and fellow Cork native Denis Irwin.
Commenting on it, he said: "Season’s Greetings. Feeling confident I’ll be on the nice list this year."
But some of Keane's followers weren't so sure and couldn't resist a laugh at his expense.
One said: "Ah are you sure?"
Another commented: "Never."
Someone else added: "Yeah. Good luck with that."
Meanwhile, Keane has stated that he believes Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the Premier League.
When asked if he thought the Spaniard was the best boss in England, the former Republic of Ireland captain Sky Bet's Driving Home for Christmas: "I do. People say, 'He’s got the best players', but you still have to manage them.
"You still have to find a style of play and if you’re going to pick a team to watch it’s going to be Manchester City aren’t you."
As an ominous warning for the rest of the Premier League, Keane admits he would "never bet against" the Sky Blues being crowned champions in May with Guardiola - whom he hailed as "the man" - in the dugout.
"I remember we did a game last year, I didn’t write off Man City but I think I said they lost their mojo," he added.
"And then they won the league and it was like a doddle to them. Obviously I know they put in the hard work, but they won it and United finished second but United we’re never going to catch them.
"I’d never bet against Man City now, I’ve just learnt my lesson from last year. It doesn’t necessarily mean Liverpool or Chelsea can’t pip them to the title, but I think Pep is the man, I look at all of the managers I think Pep is the man."
