Fans defend Peter Andre as he's told 'why bother' over sharing adorable Christmas photo of whole family

Popstar Peter Andre marked Christmas with his family by sharing a joyous snap at home with his children. The Mysterious Girl hitmaker posted a smiley photo of himself and his wife Emily with their children Amelia, eight, and Theo, six.

They beamed as they celebrated the festive season with Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, his children with his ex wife Katie Price. Peter, 49, grinned in a Christmassy jumper alongside his loved-ones in pictures posted on his Instagram on Boxing Day.

"I’m the happiest dad/ husband alive this morning," he wrote to his 1.8million followers. "Merry Christmas everyone." But as the compliments poured in from well-wishers, others questioned why he had covered over the faces of his younger children in the photo with Christmas present emojis.

dippydaisychain asked: "Why bother posting family pics! Keep them private. Ridiculous." margaret.collins.1804 wrote: "Why are the children's faces covered by presents, are they camera shy!, I have loads of pictures of me when I was very young, from a baby up til now 53yrs, there just pictures!"

kozrbt echoed: "Definitely why post pictures with children faces blocked out just don’t post them on social media." And kimberley_strachan said: "If youre putting presents over faces don't post."

andrea.ward61 said: "What's the point in photos with presents for faces lol simply don't post they look silly." And linda.halpin.3 commented: "Don't post any photos of the kids if you don't want them seen..Simples."

But other fans jumped to his defence, including rubymae92 who asked: "Why are you so bothered?" kezfin43 said: "it’s called privacy." And lioness1954 said: "You shouldn't follow Peters page if you don''t agree with his personal choice to keep his recent children out of the limelight."

Kate Ferdinand was also defended by her fans after her sweet family Christmas snap with former Manchester United footballer husband Rio caused a negative response. The former The Only Way Is Essex star popped onto Instagram on Boxing Day (Monday) to share a family-filled photo.

The snap showed Kate and Rio joined by their son, Cree, as well as Rio's children with late wife Rebecca Ellison - Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11. They were also joined by other members of the family and the group all donned matching pyjamas.

"So grateful for such a special Christmas spent with our family," she penned alongside the image which featured only the adults as the children's faces had been covered by red heart emojis. Despite this not being anything new, as Kate and Rio always keep their children’s faces covered for photos when posting on social media, some took to the comment section to complain.

@sophia051x said: "What on earth is the point in posting with so many faces covered!!!!" @southafrica3246 wrote: "Don’t understand a photo like this when so many faces are covered. Yes, keep the kids private but this photo is pointless." @_sally_mp added: "Keep this one private and take one with those on it who can be seen... simple!"

But others were quick to defend Kate and praise the family photo. @lunt_71 said: "She doesn't want her stepchildren son exposed to the world for them too be trolled and I don't blame her peaple can be so crue!" And @conniemaggie commented: " I love the fact you protect your child’s privacy. It’s fantastic."
