Fans decide which former Liverpool player they want to return and it's not Philippe Coutinho

It was one of the most satisfying sights Liverpool fans ever did see.

Robbie Fowler, a grin the size of the Mersey stretched across his face, embracing Rafa Benitez in front of the Kop.

Fowler was once again wearing the red of Liverpool after Benitez sprung a surprise and brought him back to Anfield on this day/14 years ago yesterday, in January 2006.

Despite being a very different type of player to the one that left Liverpool for Leeds in an £11m deal in 2001, Fowler's return was a huge success.

He scored 12 goals in 39 games, but operated well between the lines and was it was a hugely popular move from Benitez.

But returns aren't always a huge success.

Some can go very wrong and some just aren't neccessary.

We asked Liverpool fans who'd they liked to see return to Anfield if given the opportunity - and the result might surprise you.

Included were big names such as Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling, as well as former favourite Lucas Leiva, Emre Can, Danny Ings and an 'other' option.

But fans plumped for another name on the list, Wolves captain Conor Coady, who beat Coutinho with 30 percent.

Coady has become a vital player for Wolves after joining the midlands side from Huddersfield in 2015. He had made just two appearances for the Reds after coming through the club's Academy.
