Fans confused as Good Morning Britain doesn't return to TV after Christmas

Good Morning Britain has been taken off the air temporarily.

The morning talk show, normally hosted by Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard, Kate Garraway and Adil Ray saw a change in timings on ITV's schedule over the festive period.

GMB was supposed to return to our screens yesterday morning, leaving some viewers confused when it didn't appear on air.

Regular viewers took to Twitter to question what had happened to the programme.

Dave said: "Where is @GMB@ITV?! The news doesn’t stop in between Xmas and New Year does it?! Instead, we’ve got James Martin’s Saturday Morning on a Wednesday morning for some reason!!"

Arista said: "@GMB Why is Good Morning Britain not on this week. Printed TV mags say you are on today. I assume you must have a staffing problem?"

Lisa said: "I just want Good Morning Britain!"

Due to coronavirus fears, ITV decided to delay GMB's comeback by another week.

An ITV spokeswoman confirmed: "GMB was due to be on air from Wednesday 29th - Friday December 31, 2021 but due to the pandemic and to protect our teams, we have decided to give them an extended break.

"GMB will not broadcast next week, but will be back on air on Tuesday January 4, 2022 ."

Good Morning Britain will return on a Tuesday due to the day before it being a bank holiday.

The show usually airs at 6am on weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub.
