Fans can wear blue for Santa Dash as Everton are named most charitable football club outside London

Everton have been named the most charitable football club in the country outside of London.

Basing their figures on using the most recent data from the Charity Commission, Halsbury has compiled an updated list of the most charitable football clubs in England with the Blues named third on the list.

Everton’s total charity spend of £4,632,893, an increase of over £1million more on the previous year, is topped by just Chelsea (£8,567,040) and Charlton Athletic (£6,021,000).

Over the past year, the Blues’ official charity, Everton in the Community, have engaged with 145,816 people with 9,127 sessions delivering 135,780 hours and 11,200 people supported by Blue Family to date.

Everton in the Community have also generated £1,660,000 of fundraising income since 2018, engaged with 7,039 local young people in Premier League Kicks sessions over the past year and worked with 2,160 people aged 65 and over to prevent social isolation in 2019/20.

Some 1,304 young people and adults with disabilities were supported in 2019/20 and 14,454 young people have taken part in the NCS (National Citizen Service) programme since it was launched in 2011.

Last week’s annual Goodison sleepout raised over £34,000 while Evertonians can run in blue to aid Everton in the Community in this year’s BTR Liverpool Santa Dash with the 5k run taking place on Sunday December 5.
