The January transfer window is now just a few days for opening and there is likely to be plenty of deals completed in the Premier League during the month ahead.
Manchester United are among those, as they battle for a top-four finish, with rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham also expected to dip into the market for new additions.
United have certainly been the club most actively mentioned with names though and Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland, who worked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde, was widely reported to be a top target.
However, it was announced on Sunday that the 19-year-old Norway international had completed a move to join Borussia Dortmund for a fee of just £18million.
The move comes at a time when Jadon Sancho is also being linked with an exit from Dortmund with United named as suitors along with Chelsea and Liverpool.
As a result, that sparked a reaction on social media as fans quickly took the opportunity to mock their counterparts, as plenty of United supporters thought it was an addition that was nailed on in January.
United are still expected to make a move for Sancho in 2020 but will face stiff competition from Chelsea, and the Blues may be able to provide the England international with what Solskjaer's side are currently unable to offer him - Champions League.
