Fans brawl in Amsterdam ahead of Rangers Europa League clash against Feyenoord

Violence erupted in the centre of Amsterdam last night where fans were drinking ahead of their clash against Feyenoord.

A video widely circulated on social media shows men brawling outside a pub in Dam Square, an area popular with tourists heading to biggest city.

Many supporters have gathered in the city before heading down to Rotterdam later today for the teatime kick-off at De Kuip.

The clip starts by showing one man strike another across the face with what looks to be a drink.

It then spills on to the street with more individuals getting involved.

The brawl is eventually broken up by Dutch police who attempt to pull the men apart.

Around 3,000 Gers fans will be in the stadium tonight for the clash, however it's believed many more have made the trip across the North Sea.

Earlier this week manager Steven Gerrard asked the fans to 'behave' after the club were hit with a partial stadium closure earlier in the campaign following their sectarian singing.

He added: "We have a magnificent support who follow the team everywhere and I’m not surprised by the numbers.

"It is important the fans behave as we certainly don’t need any punishment - we need the fans behind us."
