Fans aren't happy after poor attendance recorded for Kerry v Tyrone All-Ireland semi-final

Once a stable rivalry of the GAA in the mid 2000's, scenes from Croke Park today suggested Kerry and Tyrone's tensions have simmered down slightly.

Kerry are into the All-Ireland final after a brilliant second half performance including a crucial goal with fifteen minutes to go from explosive wing forward Stephen O'Brien.

But perhaps one of the biggest talking points from the game was the rather timid attendance at Croke Park - with just 33,848 at hand to witness the semi-final.

The disappointing crowd created a stark contrast to yesterday's full house as Dublin booked their place in the All-Ireland final after a relentless second-half spell crushed Mayo's challenge.

And fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns around the attendance, with some asking if it's ticket prices, the increased number of fixtures or the standard of gaelic football that's responsible for the poor turnout.

One fan said: "The attendance at an All Ireland Semi Final between Kerry & Tyrone doesn’t even reach 35,000!? There’s something not right with that."

Another said: "The pricing has gone ridiculous. We missed more championship than league games this year for that exact reason."

One fan said that the poor crowd meant there was little atmosphere at HQ: "I’ve never seen a semi-final with a smaller crowd. No atmosphere."

Another added:  " I don't know if it's championship schedule, price, Croke Park's decision to close a tier or what, but this is unforgivable."

Although fans aren't happy with the attendance, the number won't go down in the record books as several other fixtures over the past few decades recorded lower attendances.
