Fans anger as ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield hit by sound errors, timing issues and delays

Viewers were left puzzled as This Morning was hit by sound errors, timing issues and delays.

Presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield had to end an interview with Charlotte Caldwell about her son's need for 'lifesaving cannabis' that treats his severe epilepsy for fear of running out of time.

They then moved on to a segment with the cast of BBC Doctors as they prepare for the British Soap Awards.

But Phil warned them that they may be cut off saying: "What we will do is, we will try to get through as much as we can now and then go to the weather and come back."

This did happen, but when they return there was a sound error, prompting worries that they would have to end the interview.

Phil said to Holly: "That sounded like a helicopter, didn't it?"

But the time delay between the studio and the Doctors cast in Birmingham increased, leaving one fan of the daytime show to tweet: "How is there a delay? Is she on the moon?"

Some viewers weren't happy that Ms Caldwell's interview had been stopped, despite Phil making clear that the show was running on a tight schedule.

One said: "This is just a disaster, they cut off a medical segment to speak to people pretending to be doctors, you couldn’t make it up."

Another said: "Timings on @ThisMorning are as good as ever. #Buyastopwatch."

A third said: "Mad that they cut from a real medical issue to people pretending to be doctors. Hilarious in a morbid way."

And another had strong thoughts, tweeting: "So you're cutting an important conversation about life changing medicine for a shallow talk about a soap. That is actually disgusting and the team at #ThisMorning should be ashamed of themselves. Unbelievable."
