Fancy serving pints in the middle of the Caribbean Sea? This job could be right up your street

Know a Pina colada from a Mojito?

Are you a practised pint puller?

If so, this summer job could be just what you are looking for.

One lucky person is being offered the dream opportunity, by Virgin Holidays, to serving up beverages in Caribbean paradise.

And it's not just any bar - it's a bar in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, only accessible by boat.

Now that's a commute we wouldn't mind making on a daily basis.

The successful applicant will be tasked with running Floyd's Pelican Bar, with flights and accommodation all paid for, located just one mile off the coast of Jamaica.

The job, which can be applied for online via the Virgin Holidays website, requires no qualifications and dates will be chosen to fit around the applicant.

The idea behind the vacancy is to give Floyd Forbes, the owner of the bar, his first holiday in eight years.

Mr Forbes built his bar on stilts in 2001 to share the area's scenic beauty with others.

The role will require the new recruit to commute by boat or paddle board, "even when the weather is a little too beautiful to go to work", chat to locals and tourists alike over a cool bottle of local beer, and throw the occasional fish to the resident pelicans, who gave the bar its name, a spokesman said.

Model-turned-publican Jodie Kidd will be helping to judge the applications.

She said: "I love being a pub landlady here in the UK, but if I had the opportunity to take the best of the job and do it all from an island paradise in the Caribbean, I wouldn't say no.

"This is an incredible chance for anyone looking to combine the best job in the world with one of the best overseas destinations - and giving a local legend a well-deserved holiday - so what are you waiting for?"

Application details, including full terms and conditions, can be found here.
