Fancy Italian coffee shop and showroom to open on Gloucester Road

Owner of café Blue Lagoon and adjacent fine dining restaurant Palomar is about to open his third business on Gloucester Road.

And this time entrepreneur Aly Hussein is sharing his love for Italian coffee in a newly vacant premises on the high street.

Customers will not only get the chance to sample a range of coffees from a traditional lever drawn machine but also the opportunity to browse its plush showroom that will feature a variety of products.

After starting the business is his annex a year and a half ago, he noticed the increase in demand and knew a larger space would benefit more people in the community. 

He said: “The art of coffee making has become a huge seller in the UK and in the last five to six years people have really learnt how to drink coffee requesting anything from latte, flat white or mocha."

Having originated from Egypt, Mr Hussein has spent the last 21 years getting to know the people Bristol and building his businesses.

He said: “Gloucester Road is a beautiful destination - it’s a great place to be, I have seen the road change so much in the last 20 years – the shops, the people and the atmosphere."

With refurbishment currently underway, Mr Hussein says coffee lovers will get the ultimate coffee experience once the work has been completed.

He said: "Customers can expect to see, smell and taste the uniquely made coffee out the lever coffee machines whilst exploring the showroom.

"Once you see it, you will want one - it’s like an art show," he smiled.

Mr Hussein plans to offer barista style courses teaching people how to make coffee.

He said: "In the future, I hope to convert the basement into training facilities for people to learn - I want to share this space with the community."
