Fancy buying a SCHOOL? Entire building could be yours for just £270,000

An old primary school in Birkenhead is up for auction this week.

The two storey building was formerly home to Claughton Road Special School.

In recent years, the property had been used as office space - however it will now be up for grabs to the highest bidder, in an online auction due to take place from Wednesday 27 March until Thursday 28.

John Pye Auctions, which is auctioning the space, has listed the guide price as £270,000.

The ground floor of the building consists of a large reception area leading to a school hall, while the first floor has various rooms that were used as classrooms.

The building comes with it's original features such as parquet flooring, fireplaces and ornate staircases.

Head of property at John Pye, Richard Reed said: “The location and potential for conversion at this property present a rare opportunity for investors.

“The building has been used as an office block, but subject to gaining the necessary consent could be reconfigured to retail, leisure or even present residential opportunities.”
