Refunds are common in the gaming world, but there are always conditions. For example, Steam’s refund policy dictates that a game can only be returned if it has been played for under two hours and the purchase was made within the last 14 days.
That’s fine for small indie games, as you can judge if you like the game within those two hours. But, for games like Football Manager, where you have put in more than two hours to actually get a feel for the game, this policy just doesn’t. Not to mention, Football Manager 26 is an expensive game. So, you are basically stuck with a game that you don’t like and can’t get money back for it.
However, that’s not the case anymore. Some Reddit users have found that you can refund FM26 if you bought it through Fanatical. For those unfamiliar, Fanatical is an online video game retailer much like GOG. All you need to do is talk to the support on Fanatical and list down the reasons why you want to refund. If the reasons are genuine, you will get a refund.
Does Football Manager 26 Deserve A Refund?

Football Manager 26 has been mostly good, but there are still complaints. Firstly, the UI is awful, and it doesn’t get better when you learn that the game does not support skins like the previous versions. So, you are stuck with a UI that you can’t really do much about, and that too in a game where most of your time is spent in Menus. Then, there is a laundry list of bugs that I am not going to get into.
Granted, the game isn’t due for full launch until November 4. But, if you have not enjoyed the FM26 beta and aren’t bullish on its long-term stability, you can refund it on Fanatical if you bought the key from there.
