Last night, fans at the M&S Bank Arena were treated to something special as they attended the TheraPlate UK Liverpool International Horse Show.
Visitors to the penultimate night of the show on December 30 were got more than they were expecting when a fan to his girlfriend.
The arena tweeted the news alongside a photograph of the happy couple, and said: “Congratulations to Chrissie and Andy from Preston she said hell yes !!”
Nina Barbour, show president at TheraPlate UK Liverpool International Horse Show, added: “We were thrilled to help Andy organise a proposal like no other at this year’s show.
“The plan was to announce that their seat numbers had won a special prize during the Puissance to get the couple down on stage.
“Once they were in place, Andy popped the question and thankfully Chrissy said a big 'hell yes!'"
It turns out this is not the first time the famed equestrian show has helped someone pop the question.
Nina added: “Although this was a truly unique proposal, it’s not the first year a reveller has got down on one knee so there certainly must be something in the air here in Liverpool!
“It really has been another special year for us and it’s not over yet; tonight’s New Year’s Eve celebrations are bigger and better than before so if you fancy bringing in 2020 with a bang, tickets are still available to purchase online or over the phone.”
