Fan Poll: Will 2019 be the year of a Kenyan Drake breakout?

On Friday, our Bret LaGasse speculated on whether or not coach Brian Flores and his staff can help draw the best out of Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake.

This regime is going to be focused on trying to develop their players, which is something we haven’t seen a lot of from Drake during the past two years. As a matter of fact, in some areas (like pass protection) it could be argued we’ve seen Drake regress.

But how do the fans feel about a potential breakout for the former Alabama back, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract?

Nearly 1,000 Dolphins fans weighed in on this simple question: “How confident are you that (Kenyan) Drake will rush for at least 1,000 yards in 2019?”

The results are uninspiring.

Miami fans are not taking the bait, at least not yet. Drake has all of the physical skills needed to be a productive starting running back in the NFL. But Miami’s shoddy offensive line and Drake’s own mental errors have really put a damper on his growth.

Perhaps as this roster evolves in the coming months, Dolphins fans will find a greater source of inspiration regarding Drake’s upcoming season. But in the meantime, fans are expecting more of the same.
