May 25--Well, one fan finally has gotten Cubs and Cardinals fans to agree on something.
Neither fan base -- or baseball fans in general -- seemed pleased to see the indecisive fan wearing a Cubs hat with a Cardinals jersey during Wednesday's game at Busch Stadium, once a photo of the mystery man began circulating around social media.
"You're doing it wrong, buddy," St. Louis sports radio host Chris Hrabe.
St. Louis Magazine came up with "12 Questions For the Fan Wearing A Cubs Hat and Cardinals Jersey to Busch Stadium," including "Who are you?" and "Are you confused?"
Sports blog Next Impulse Sports also tweeted the picture and added, "World's Worst Baseball Fan Was at Cubs-Cardinals Game on Wednesday." Sports Mockery chimed in, "That's not how this works. That's now how any of this works."
Others tweeted similar sentiments:
"what is this monstrosity"
"I'm surprised they let him in."
"that guy is literally the worst."
"What is wrong with this world?"
"When you aren't ready to bandwagon jump until you see who wins"
"Maybe it's someone from Zobrist's family...that's the only logical explanation for this insanity."
But Cubs fan @CaseyJames54 took a different view: "It's like an ugly Cardinals fan caterpillar emerging from its cocoon and becoming a beautiful Cubs fan butterfly."
Judging by one Cardinals' fan expression as Cubs fans celebrated a 9-8 win all around her, maybe the Cubs-Cardinals fan had the right idea after all.
