The famous old gunpowder store at a seaside town in Co Down, is to be restored as a tourist attraction.
An invitation has now been released to tender for the work in Donaghadee at the unique hillside building known locally as The Moat.
The restoration is expected to include a camera obscura, the renovation of the surrounding paths and general area.
Local councillor Mark Brooks, said: "This project is a major investment from the Council and Donaghadee Townscape Heritage Initiative.
"It has been a long process but fruition is now the word to use regarding this project."
The winning tender will regenerate The Moat which looks over the coast at Donaghadee to the Copeland Islands and beyond.
And it is hoped the renewal will attract further tourism to the town.
A metal door prevents visitors from seeing inside for now but it is planned that a full restoration will enable access inside with the addition of the pinhole camera.
Closing date for the tender is September 7 at 12 noon.
