Famous Beatles themed Penny Lane Hotel up for grabs at auction

A famous Beatles themed hotel is up for grabs to the highest bidder and could be yours for less than £1million.

Penny Lane Hotel is heading to auction next month and the next lucky owner could take over in a matter of weeks.

Listed with Sutton Kersh, the auction of the hotel comes just weeks after the recent sale of the Penny Lane Wine Bar.

The 17 room hotel, located on Smithdown Place in Mossley Hill, is just one of many significant Beatles attractions in the city.

Many features at the hotel are also nods to the Famous Four and guests will be able to immerse themselves in the band during their stay.

As well as each room carrying a Beatles inspired theme, a number of them also boast views of the original bus shelter at Penny Lane junction where John Lennon and Paul McCartney used to meet.

The hotel is just four miles away from the Liverpool One shopping and leisure complex and just a 20 minute walk from Mossley Hill Railway Station.

Guests can make a short, 15 minute, journey by car to Liverpool city centre where visitors and tourists are encouraged to check out The Cavern Club and the famous Mathew Street.

There are three different room sizes and styles available to guests currently but it would be up to the new owners if they wanted to make any changes.

Auctioneers have listed the Penny Lane Hotel with a guide price of £750,000 and it is expected to go quick.

Speaking about their recent success with online auctions, a spokesperson for Sutton Kersh said: "Following on from the phenomenal success of their May auction, Sutton Kersh are steaming ahead with their Summer auction and already have 129 confirmed lots available for buyers.

"It has been a rough few months for all industries and sectors throughout the country.

"However, it is very positive to see that people are still investing in residential and commercial properties."

Katie Donohue Senior Valuer said ‘March was a worrying time for us as we didn’t want to have to cancel our April auction and let down all of the vendors, so we worked around the clock to make it a success, holding Liverpool’s first online property auction.

"This momentum carried on and we were able to hold a very exciting live streamed auction in May which attracted hundreds of viewers nationwide and saw us sell over £7 Million of property, which I believe shows how committed the team are to get the best results for our clients."

She added: "Sutton Kersh recently sold the Penny Lane Wine Bar through auction and now in this one, they have the renowned Penny Lane Hotel on Smithdown Place available with a guide price of £750,000."

Sutton Kersh’s next auction is taking place on 16 th July and will be a live streamed event.

All lots are available online at www.suttonkersh.co.uk to view.
