Family want to 'give adventures' to the children of Pentland Hills walker who died suddenly

A crowdfunding page has been launched for the children of a 'fearless' young mum who tragically died while hillwalking in the Pentland Hills.

Emma McDonald, from Innerleithen, Peeblesshire was just 29 when she tragically passed away near Edinburgh on Wednesday.

The florist was known for her 'buzzing' and 'fun' outlook on life and was a keen mountain biker.

She sadly leaves behind her two children aged 9 and 5, and husband, with the fundraiser hoped to give the kids, the 'adventures she'd planned.'

The fundraiser was organised by a friend of Emma from the local mountain biking community.

It reads: "Emma travelled through life like she rode MTB: fearless, buzzing, always looking for the most rewarding line. Always about the fun factor and never the consequence.

On the 17th of August she left us without warning at the tender age of 29, tragically she cardiac arrested whilst hillwalking.

She leaves behind 2 beautiful mini shredders aged 9 and 5 and a lot of broken hearts.

I’m aiming to raise funds so that the MTB community can give her children the adventures she’d planned but will never see to come pass."
