Family 'very concerned' for 91-year-old man who did not return home after going for a drive in Vauxhall Astra

A family is "very concerned" for the safety of a 91-year-old man who did not return home after going for a drive in a Vauxhall Astra.

Herbert Allen was reported missing from the village of Ranskill in Bassetlaw at around 3.30pm on Saturday, October 5.

Nottinghamshire Police said he was last seen in a blue-grey 55' plate Astra driving along the A638 North Road at 4.17pm on the same day.

The Astra is that of a five-door hatchback variant.

He had just left Retford and was heading towards Ranskill.

However, he has not returned home.

A spokesman for the force added: "If you have seen Herbert or have any information about his whereabouts, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 698 of Saturday October 5th 2019.

"Herbert is described as white, of medium build and is around five-foot-three-inches tall. He is described as having grey balding hair and wears glasses.

"If you find Herbert or his vehicle please call 999 immediately."
