A couple has explained how they pulled off the stunning transformation of a rickety old caravan from the 1990s for less than £300.
Nikki Fulcher, 35, and husband Chris, 37, restored the vehicle in less than a month during lockdown.
The couple, of Penzance, Cornwall, painted the outdated beige cabinets a modern light blue and added pops of colour and furniture which Nikki picked up from B&M to brighten up the space.
They enjoyed their first trip away in it on the weekend with kids; Arlo, 13, Isla, 11 and nine-year-old Joss.
"When I was little, my gran always used to visit in a caravan and she would stay there overnight - I've wanted one of my own ever since," Nikki, who works as an admin assistant, said.
"It made sense to get a caravan as we've always loved going away as a family for staycations and I knew the kids would love it.
"Money has been tight in lockdown so we knew we had to do it all on a budget.
"The curtains only cost £2 as I just used some curtain dye on them which made them look brand new; the laminate flooring cost us £100; the paint for the cupboards was only £20; the door knobs and throws were £20 and then I just found some little bits and bobs from B&M to make the place our own."
Mum-of-three Nikki added: "We took it a few miles away from where we live in Cornwall for a trial and we can't wait to take it to even more places.
"I wanted something light and modern but with a beachy theme - I like yellows and blues so made sure to incorporate them and it's really brightened up the place.
"I had a look on Pinterest to get an idea of what I wanted and then we just ran with it - we're delighted with it and it only took us a month to complete on and off after work."
