Family shaken after 'large rock' almost causes 'near-fatal' crash on M60

A mum and her son were left “shocked” after a large object smashed their car window screen on the M60 in Salford

The “near-fatal” incident happened near junction 16 of the motorway for Clifton and Pendlebury.

The woman was driving a grey Range Rover Evoke with her 10-year-old son at around 6.45pm on Thursday, December 17, when a large grey object fell from above.

The object, believed to be a large rock, smashed the window screen as she passed under a motorway bridge.

The woman and her son were not injured in the incident but were left shaken and managed to pull over to safety.

Manc Traffic tweeted: “Were you on the M60 c/w around j16 Clifton/Pendlebury approx. 6.45pm last Thursday?

“Thankfully the occupants of a grey Range Rover Evoke were left shocked but not injured

“The driver is liaising with police.”

Greater Manchester Police has been approached for comment.
