Family sent 50 prank takeaways every weekend say "they don't know why it's happening"

A family kept up all night by pranksters sending Just Eat takeaways to their house are desperate for the fast food deliveries to stop.

Ant Jones, 27, claims he and his wife have been blighted by 50 take-aways arriving at their door every single weekend for the last three weeks.

The bizarre prank has kept Ant and wife Charleen's 20-month-old son Kanaan awake for hours as delivery drivers knock throughout the night.

Frustrated Ant has no idea who's behind the prank orders, being sent to his Woodchurch home, with different names appearing on the kebabs, pizzas and Chinese take-aways.

One order, a Chinese banquet fit to feed an entire family, came in at a whopping £80 - but helpless Ant just had to tell the delivery driver he didn't order it and send them away without payment.

The 27-year-old dad, who works in a contact centre for Argos, told the ECHO : "The last three weekends I've been having take-aways sent here.

"It started not the weekend just gone, the one before that. It's been about 50 each weekend.

"The highest priced one they sent was £80. We've had 50 over the course of a weekend.

"The first weekend when it first happened, it was 8.30pm and went on until 1am. On Sunday [July 28, it happened at 8.30am, people sending breakfast and the Sunday roasts round.

"I've got a 20-month old son and it kept him awake from midnight until 6.30am. I don't have a clue why it's happening."

The orders have arrived with all sorts of names attached, including Luke, Justin, Casey, Nathan - but not a single one was placed by the Jones family.

Unsure how to stop the constant deliveries, Ant tried informing his housing association to see if they understood why his address was being targeted.

Ant claims the pranks started with his neighbour's home first, with five deliveries being sent to them on Friday, July 12.

But since then, Ant has been subjected to a barrage of 50 take-aways a weekend, every single week.

Speaking to the ECHO , Ant said: "It's been stressful - my son hasn't been getting any sleep at all. My wife's very distressed as well. It's very frustrating."

He added: "[The delivery drivers have] been asking for payment on arrival and we've been not paying them and then they have to bin it.

"It's been kebabs, Indian, Chinese - part of that £80 order was a banquet. Some of them had the hump with us but in the end they understood."

A Just Eat spokesperson told the ECHO : "At Just Eat, we take complaints of this nature very seriously and are concerned to see this has happened.

"We have investigated as a matter of urgency and put in place measures which should prevent further orders, including a block on the address and notifications to all restaurants on the Just Eat platform in the area not to deliver to the home.

"We have been in contact with Mr Jones and also advised him to contact the police and will fully support any investigation into this."
