Strangers rushed to put out the flames of a petrol bombed car less than a metre away from a family home.
The family inside have spoken of how they are now living in fear after their front room window was also bricked this week.
Amy Youds, 34, said her children are afraid to be in the house and she said she finds herself worrying about every car that passes in case they are targeted again.

She said she believes their house is being "wrongly targeted by criminals".
Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO they are treating both the petrol bombing and the bricked window as "deliberate and targeted" and Detective Inspector Darren Taylor said both incidents "risked the safety of people living inside the house".
Amy said she has no idea why they could be being targeted, she said: "We have lived in Leasowe all our lives and we have lived in this house for two years.
"I have no idea why anyone would do this to us.
"Whoever they think lives here, they don't."
At around 9.25pm on December 15 the mum-of-three said she had gone to take the bins out at her home on Twickenham Drive, Leasowe, Wirral, when she noticed the smell of petrol.
She said: "I looked over at the car and saw a note on the window screen - it was an old shopping list - I went back in and minutes later the neighbours were banging at the door to tell us our car was on fire on our driveway.
The mum said she at first believe the incident was "just kids".
However she claims CCTV footage shows "two lads running away from the house" and just over a week later a brick was hurled through their window.
The mum told the ECHO she now believes the attack is targeted and believes the shopping list had been used to try and ignite the bomb and had been attached to a Lucozade bottle filled with petrol.
She said: "A friend came over to watch the Liverpool match on December 28 and at about 8.50pm someone threw a brick through the living room window.
"Jason and our friend jumped up and saw a lad running off down the road to a waiting car.
"Me and the kids had been playing in the front room the night before - if it had been that evening, it would have hit my son in the head."

Amy's partner Jason Hayden, 35, said he thinks the car will be written off, he said: "I am waiting to hear back from the insurance company but I am 80-90% it will be written off, you only have to look at it."
"I am not ashamed to say this has scared me but I want this to be sorted and end more so for Amy and the kids."
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Detectives are appealing for information following a suspected arson and criminal damage at the same property in Leasowe earlier this month.
"Police were called by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) just after 9.40pm to a report a car on a driveway on Twickenham Drive had been set alight.
"Members of the public extinguished the flames before the arrival of emergency services soon after.
"It was reported two males were seen running away from the scene shortly before the incident was reported.
"Just before 9pm on Tuesday, December 28, a window at the same address was reportedly smashed after a brick was thrown at it. A male – wearing a dark blue jacket, a cap and face mask - was seen leaving on foot through an alleyway nearby before getting into a grey car that was driven away from the scene.
"Nobody was injured during the incidents and an investigation is underway."
Detective Inspector Darren Taylor said: "While thankfully nobody has been hurt in these attacks, they have left the young family who live at the property in considerable distress.
"The incidents are being treated as deliberate and targeted, and while we have spoken to potential witnesses and studied CCTV, we are looking to speak to anyone we have not yet spoken to who may have witnessed the incidents or may have captured details on their home CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage.
"It is incredibly reckless to set a car alight in a residential street and throw a brick at a window. Both incidents had risked the safety of people living inside the house as well as those nearby, and we’re determined to find those responsible, so please tell us what you know."
