Family's tribute to mum, Woman smashes front teeth and Top 10 baby names

'One in a million' mum mauled to death by dogs

The family of Ann Dunn have said she was "one in a million."

Ann Dunn died after being attacked by dogs in a Vauxhall home, on St Brigid's Crescent, on Monday, October 3. Emergency services attended but pronounced the mum and nan dead at the scene.

Officers seized five American bulldogs that were "humanely destroyed." Tributes have poured in for Ms Dunn, who worked as a cleaner at Liverpool John Moores University, with Merseyside police sharing a brief statement from her family.

In a statement, the family said: "Our one in a million mum. Life will never be the same without you." Other tributes include a touching comment from her workplace at the University of Liverpool.

Woman 'can't even eat a sandwich' after smashing front teeth in fall

A woman has said she "wants her life back" after a "terrible accident" that left her unable to eat a sandwich.

Leanne Newcomen, 36, had a "dizzy spell" in her garden on September 18 that caused her to fall "face first" on to the concrete floor. Leanne, from Wallasey, smashed a number of her front teeth in the fall and rushed to hospital where it was confirmed she had also broken her nose.

After receiving stitches, Leanne was referred to a maxillofacial consultant, who told her she would have to visit her own dentist to have her teeth fixed. However, the 36-year-old has been unable to get an appointment due to the backlog of patients waiting to be seen on the NHS, and now faces the prospect of having to pay up to £7,000 to receive private treatment.
