Family's tribute to mum-of-two murdered in Salford home as man fights for life

A heartbroken family have paid tribute to their "beautiful" daughter who was murdered at her house in Salford.

Regan Tierney, 27, was found dead at her semi-detached home at 2.10am on Wednesday.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital and he remains in a critical condition.

Police immediately launched a murder investigation and a post-mortem examination is due to take place to establish what caused Regan's death.

Today the family of mother-of-two Regan released a moving tribute to her, reports the Manchester Evening News.

It said: "She was a loving mum who loved family life, she will be greatly missed by her two children and family.

"Regan was taken from our lives too soon. She was a beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and an amazing mother. We will forever cherish the memories.

"At this time we respectfully ask for some privacy whilst we grieve the loss of our loved one."

Police were called to her home shortly before 2.10am on Wednesday following reports of 'concern for welfare' for a woman in the property.

Officers found her body inside.

Neighbours have spoken of their shock following the incident.

"I knew straight away something had gone badly wrong just with the number of police.

"I heard someone screaming ‘No, no, no’ then they brought someone out on a stretcher. That was about 2.30am.

"At 4am a big truck came and took away a blue car. Police have been here all night and forensics turned up early this morning.

"I only knew her to say hello and goodbye to. It’s just a real shame, but it seems to be the way of the world nowadays."
