Family's poignant message as son's killer still 'walks the streets'

A family has shared a poignant message to anyone withholding information as his killer still remains at large.

In the five years since Adam Ellison was murdered, his heartbroken family have been continually fighting for justice.

The much-loved son and brother was stabbed in the neck during an altercation with two men on a scrambler bike at Market Place, Prescot. During the early hours of November 4, 2017, loved ones desperately tried to save the 29-year-old, but despite best efforts he died shortly after 2am.

Friends previously spoke out about their desperate attempts to save his life as they said the flashbacks still "haunt them to this day".

As the fight for justice continues and the family keep his memory alive, they have shared a heart-breaking message to anyone who may have information. Taking to social media they wrote: "The sad reality is Adam was on his way home to stay the night with his mum and dad after having a well deserved night out with a few friends and family.

"Adam is an innocent young man and yet five years on his murderer is still out there walking our streets living his life. The police have stated that Adam’s murderer is linked to the Huyton area, so we ask the people of Huyton directly if you know who this murderer is and any information at all the night Adam was murdered then please, it’s time to speak up.

"Surely you don’t want to be breathing the same air never mind living in the same area with this dangerous individual. If you do know anything and are scared to come forward, ask yourself why are you scared of speaking up if you're not going to tell anyone you have given information and especially if you come forward anonymously? Your information stays confidential at all times so again why are you scared?

"You're actually living in fear longer than you need to by letting this waste of air walk free and be a danger to you and the public. Imagine if this was your son, you boy, who never made it home. So please to who ever knows the truth, speak up and bring home our beautiful Adam’s justice."

Since that day, several lines of enquiry have been carried out as part of an ongoing investigation and arrests have been made but, to date, nobody has been charged. Merseyside Police is appealing for anyone with information to contact the force.

The ADAM Foundation (Achieving Dreams And Memories) set up in Adam's memory continues to campaign against knife crime across Merseyside and supports community initiatives in the Prescot area. Having visited thousands of children in schools across the borough, the committee – Adam’s loved ones – hope to spread the all important message of not to carry a weapon.
