Family's heartfelt plea to find Asda worker who is missing after leaving hospital

A heartfelt plea for a 39-year-old man to come home has been made by his worried partner after he disappeared in the early hours of Tuesday after leaving hospital.

Avid Wigan Athletic fan Colin Garner had been taken to the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary after collapsing at the local Asda store where he worked as a general assistant.

After being discharged at 3am, he did not arrive at the home in Hindley, Wigan, that he shares with his partner Jade and their three children, aged 19, 14 and seven.

He left the hospital wearing his Asda work uniform.

Jade Hindley, 30, said there had been a sighting of him in the Spring View area of the town at 7am on Tuesday, but nothing since.

Police are now looking for Colin.

Jade said: "We love him and we just want him to come home.

"He has been depressed in the past, but his colleagues said he was laughing and joking at work.

"He left for work at 1.30pm yesterday and I got a phone call asking me to pick him up at 10pm. Then I got a call saying he was on his way to hospital because he had collapsed.

"I contacted the hospital to try to find out what had been wrong with him, but they said they couldn't tell me because of patient confidentiality. We have no idea what his problem was."

Colin is a volunteer for the mental health charity North West and his beloved football club have published an appeal on their Facebook page.

It reads: "APPEAL: Latics fan Colin Garner has been missing since 3am this morning.

"Colin was last seen wearing his Asda uniform. Please contact the Police on 101 or 999, quoting the reference 313/240821 if you have any information."
