Family's heartbreak after husband and wife die in multi-vehicle M56 horror crash

A grieving family described their pain after their parents died in a multi-vehicle crash on the M56.

Richard Wong, 62, and Angela Wong, 56, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Six further people were injured in the smash at 5.20pm on Thursday, September 19.

Two air ambulances attended and the M56 was closed for more than 12 hours.

The Wongs, who had been married for 37 years and lived in Manchester, left behind two children and two grandchildren.

Their family said today: "They touched the hearts and enriched the lives of everyone who knew them.

“Our parents leave behind two children, two grandchildren and an extensive family and group of friends who are all devastated by their sudden loss. 

“They will be truly missed by everyone who knew them."

"We are forever grateful to have had them as our wonderful parents. We love them very much and they will be forever in our hearts."

Cheshire Police urged witnesses to come forward as the investigation continues.

Dozens of people on social media send thoughts to those involved in the crash and those stuck in the traffic.
