Family’s grief for care worker stabbed 86 times by her jealous boyfriend

"Stolen life": Elise Stevens was killed by her partner Ian Levy at his home in Hendon (Picture: Metropolitan Police )

The family of a care worker who was stabbed to death by her jealous boyfriend in a frenzied attack today asked: “How much is a woman’s life worth?”

Elise Stevens, 50, wanted to move in with partner Ian Levy and just days before he killed her in a bout of rage she told him: “I want to be part of your future,” the Old Bailey heard.

Levy, 55, stabbed the mother of three 86 times at his home in Hendon, fearing she would leave him for another man.

He blamed his mental health but was convicted of murder and jailed for life this week with a minimum term of 21 years.

Ms Stevens’s sister, Rochelle Dray, said her life had been “stolen” by Levy, adding: “How much is a woman’s life worth? Or should the question be what price will society pay when Ian Levy … is one day released?”
