The family of the Lithuanian national have released a heartfelt message along with the funeral arrangements on RIP.ie, Cork Beo reports.

They said: "Even in death you are still loved and forever will be. You have touched the hearts of so many who owe you a lifetime of gratitude. We are not saying goodbye forever but goodbye for now. We pray you find peace and rest wherever you are.

"Sadly and deeply missed by his loving mother Loreta, stepfather Aidenas, sister Giedre and her partner Daniel, his girlfriend Roberta, nephews Adam and Lucas, cousins, aunts, uncles, family and all his friends.

"Visitation from 4.30pm on Friday followed by Prayers at 6.00pm at Barry Bros. Funeral Home, Hazelwood, Glanmire. Funeral will take place privately."

The investigation into Jonas' death is still ongoing after a man was arrested but later released without charge on Monday.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating the full circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 29 year old male at approximately 7am Monday 9th September 2019 at a farm house in Shanavagoon, Ladysbridge, County Cork.

“It's understood the male had a number of injuries.

“He was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place.

“The scene is currently preserved and Scenes of Crime and the State Pathologist has been notified."

Reacting to the news, local Fine Gael councillor Susan McCarthy said the tight-knit community were in shock.

She said: “It’s very raw here at the moment.

“Ladybridge is a small and quiet village and it would be unheard of to have this happen here.

“This area is very rural and a small tight knit community so it has really hit people heard here when the news broke.”
