Family's desperate appeal to find missing woman Sarah Ridge

The father of a woman missing from her home for almost a week has spoken of his hopes and fears as police continue to search for her.

Sarah Ridge has not been seen or made contact with her family or friends since last Friday, and her family said they are increasingly worried about what might have happened to her.

The 29-year-old lives in Hartcliffe in South Bristol and has experienced problems with her mental health before.

She was last seen by her mum and dad, Donald and Angela Ridge, of Bedminster, last Wednesday, and they spoke to her again on Thursday, June 20.

They said they understand she packed bags of clothes and left following an argument with her partner, in the early hours of Friday morning, and no one has seen or heard from her since.

“I’m hoping and praying she’s going to be found alive and well, of course,” said Mr Ridge.

“But it’s the not knowing that is the worst part. Everything has just stopped for us. We just don’t know what’s happened to her,” he added.

“The last time I saw her was last Wednesday, and we spoke again on the Thursday, and then I got a call early on Friday at work from my wife saying that her boyfriend was worried because she’d taken off with bags of clothes and didn’t know where she’d gone,” he said.

The family spent Friday and Saturday trying to make contact with her, but could not find out where she had gone - so reported her as a missing person to the police on Sunday.

Since then, appeals on social media from Sarah’s sister Joanne have also failed to find anyone who has seen or been in contact with her either.

Ms Ridge, who has worked as a cleaner for AirBnBs in Bristol, has a wide circle of friends, and all are desperately worried about her, her father said.

“She’s an adult, of course, but at the end of the day, she’s still our little girl and it’s a nightmare. Her mother’s at the end of her tether about it, so very worried.

How does a missing persons investigation work?

“All I want is for someone to walk through the door and say ‘yes, she’s fine and she’s in this place’. We are so desperate,” he added.

Mr Ridge said the police are increasingly worried about Ms Ridge’s welfare, and are checking phone records and bank accounts to try to track her down.
