Family-run Scottish business closes doors for good after more than 50 years

A FAMILY-OWNED business has announced its closure after more than 50 years.

Jet Set Equestrian, a pet and country clothing store in Dundonald, South Ayrshire, was established in 1971 and has been run by the same family for more than three decades.

The business announced online that it was closing its doors at the end of January and thanked its customers for their support.

A spokesperson said: "After 35 wonderful years, Jet Set Equestrian will be closing its doors at the end of January 2025.

"We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for your support over the years. It’s been an honour to serve the equestrian community and to be part of so many memories.

"A special thank you to all of our dedicated staff who have made this journey possible. Your hard work and loyalty have meant the world to us.

"We’ll cherish these last few weeks and hope to see you before we close. Thank you again for being a part of the jet set family."

Responding on Facebook, one user wrote: "We will all miss Jet Set, sad to see it close but wishing you all the best for the future.

"Thanks for providing us all with such an excellent service over the years."

"All the best for the future! You will be missed," a second added.
