Family release pictures of 'most caring mum' and 'best dad' after couple found dead at home

Pictures of a mum and her boyfriend, who were found dead in a heartbreaking double tragedy at a house, have been released by their families.

Michelle Slater, 44, and her boyfriend Jason Bentham, 43, were discovered on May,8, at the home in St Helens.

Ms Slater was a mum-of-three, and Mr Bentham was a dad-of-two.

They had been in a relationship for only a short period of time.

Those close to the couple have described the incident as a "very tragic accident" and police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.

Photos were this afternoon released to the ECHO of Ms Slater and Mr Bentham, as tributes for the couple continue to grow.

He added: "There is a God, I know this now because he only takes the best.

"And he was the best, I miss him so much."

Relatives are trying to raise money for his funeral, and spoke about how Mr Bentham's children, Jade and Lewis, had "tragically lost their dad."

One friend said: "One of the kindest lads you could meet, you’ll never be forgotten in our hearts forever, Jason."

Another added: "I will always love you and miss you my old friend.

More tributes were paid to mum-of-three Ms Slater and Mr Bentham, who also had children.

One woman said: "RIP Michelle and her boyfriend, thinking of her youngest daughter Christine and the rest of their families."

Ms Slater's brother, speaking about his family's loss, said: "Two days ago I got the news that my beautiful sister's body had been found.

"I am absolutely devastated and shocked that she is no longer with us all.

"She had only just celebrated her birthday two days earlier.

"She was the most caring and loving sister anybody could of asked for and it is absolutely heartbreaking that she is leaving behind a heartbroken dad and mum, three brothers, a sister and three wonderful and amazing children, and four beautiful grandchildren.

"RIP Michelle, I will always love you and I know I will see you again one day.

"You will be forever in my heart and always remembered.

"Sleep tight Angel xxx."

The tragedy happened seven days ago when police were called to the address at about 2pm.

It followed a report made about the bodies of two people being found, at the Parbold Avenue property in the Blackbrook area of the town, by a member of the public.
